Our Pastor

Bro. Michael Battenfield and his family come to First Baptist from Clinton, Arkansas. Previously he served as pastor of Park View Baptist Church in North Little Rock. With Brother Michael is his wife Diana and two daughters Anna and Selah.

Bro. Michael holds the Batchelor of Music Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas and the Master of Arts in Religion from the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary (Jacksonville, TX). Beyond education, Bro. Michael is passionate about the Word of God, and the command of Jesus to “make disciples”, and believes that our relationship with Jesus Christ through the Bible, and our relationships with each other as believers is the foundation of fulfilling that Great Commission. He also enjoys leading others to not just read the Bible, but to actually learn how to understand it and to become passionate themselves about the Word of God and its transformational power.

When not preaching, teaching, studying, reading, singing with the Arkansas Master’Singers, restoring cast iron cookware, or engaging in other ministry activities including Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief, Bro. Michael enjoys fishing, hunting, archery, marksmanship, playing paintball, and any excuse to spend time with his family.
